The invention relates to a method for the reductive decoloration of coloured fibres containing keratin, according to which a product containing a combination of (a) at least one organic compound carrying at least one thiol group and at least one optionally derivatised carboxyl group and (b) at least one organic compound selected from the group formed from cyclic organic carbonates, glycerine and its derivatives and C4-C12 fatty acid dimethylamides, is applied to the fibres, left thereon, and the fibres are subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of between 65°C and 200°C.
