<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch device capable of certainly opening a latch. <P>SOLUTION: In the latch device 1, a ratchet 30 which rotates clockwise by being biased by a spring 70 comes in a linear contact when abutting with the latch 20. Accordingly, the ratchet 30 meshes with the latch 20 and a rotation force of the ratchet 30 is transmitted to the latch 20 without being inoperative.
