PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus operating device that reduces time and effort of a user who operates a plurality of electronic apparatus simultaneously used. SOLUTION: An apparatus operating device 100A which is used to operate a video display apparatus 300 and is separate from the video display apparatus 300 stores a power-on/off command OUT for the video display apparatus and a power-on/off command IN for a peripheral apparatus 200, receives a signal transmitted from a remote controller 20 for the peripheral apparatus 200 to the peripheral apparatus 200 by radio, and transmits the power-on/off command OUT to the video display apparatus 300 in response to detecting the power-on/off command IN from the signal received from the remote controller 20 for the peripheral apparatus 200 by an infrared reception part 110A.
