PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unintended engine restarting for a driver, in an idling stop/start system mounted in a manual transmission vehicle. SOLUTION: An engine restarting device for the vehicle includes: a clutch slight depression detecting switch 42 for detecting the slightly depressed condition of a clutch pedal 41; and a controller 110 restarting the engine 30 with the slightly depressing operation of the clutch pedal detected by the clutch slight depression detecting switch 42 being taken as the establishment requirement of a restarting condition. The controller 110 regards clutch complete-depression equivalent time as determination time Q after detecting the slightly depressing operation of the clutch pedal detected by the clutch slight depression detecting switch 42. If the slightly depressing operation of the clutch is continued after the determination time Q, the engine 30 is restarted.
