PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively avoid defective combustion occurring during acceleration process. SOLUTION: A method of controlling fuel injection executes steps of: detecting that operation for acceleration is performed; calculating an estimation value of engine rotation speed with reference to a fuel injection quantity and the gear ratio of a transmission when the operation for acceleration is performed; determining a difference between the estimation value and an actual measurement value of engine rotation speed and determining whether or not the difference is equal to or larger than a predetermined value; determining an advance correction quantity of fuel injection timing based on the magnitude of the difference when the difference is determined to be equal to or larger than the predetermined value; and storing the determined advance correction quantity in association with the parameters showing the operation state of an internal combustion engine at that time.
