Thin fleece material on the basis of alkali-macerated bast fiber, is claimed. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing the thin fleece material comprising the bast fiber on the fiber material, comprising (i) carrying out alkaline-maceration, (ii) carding, (iii) wet treating and (iv) drying; and (2) a natural fiber composite material comprising the thin fleece material as a component.
