The unit (1) has a mounting plate (4) connecting two assemblies of a bearing arrangement (3), where one of the assemblies includes a through hole (10) for retaining a mounting screw to fix the bearing arrangement in an installation space. The mounting plate includes a retaining arm (27) extended through the through hole. An axial positive connection unit is formed between the assemblies of the bearing arrangement by the mounting plate. The retaining arm includes an end region (28) projected from the through hole. The mounting plate is manufactured from a plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing a bearing arrangement.
