The dishwasher (1) has a housing (2) with a washing area (4) that includes washing area opening (5), which is lockable by a housing door (3) in a fluid-tight manner. The washing area accommodates a loading unit, which is partly moved out from the washing area by the washing area opening, where the loading unit exhibits a lighting unit (9). The loading unit is designed in a basket shape and is formed by an upper basket (7), a lower basket (6) and a cutlery drawer (8). The lighting unit exhibits a set of illuminants i.e. LEDs.
