<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose an open phase without any occurrence of undesired torque and vibration in a motor. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit 30 calculates the phase of current injected into the motor as a current injection phase based on a rotor phase θ of the motor 10. Also, the control unit 30 injects a high-frequency current, which is not less than a prescribed frequency under the condition of out of synchronization of the motor, to the motor 10 based on the current injection phase at the time of a motor stop.
