PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent rotation of a lever at incorrect mounting. SOLUTION: The lever type connector 100, provided with a connector housing 11, of which a wire is taken out from one way 25a or the other 25b, a wire cover 13 having an extraction opening 47 of the wire selectively mounted on the connector housing 11 in either of the two directions, a shaft 39 set in protrusion on either side part of the connector housing 11, a lever 15 selectively mounted on the connector housing 11 in two rotation operation directions, including a pair of parallel plates each with rest holes 57 for the shafts 39 to be inserted into and a gripping part 53 coupling the parallel plates, a detection protrusion 61 which is set in protrusion at the wire cover 13 and which the parallel plates strike at rotation operation of the lever 15 incorrectly mounted on the connector housing 11 in a direction reverse to an attachment direction of the wire cover 13, and a rotation inhibiting means 63 fitted over the shaft 39 and the rest holes 57 for inhibiting rotation of the lever 15 with displacement of the parallel plates as the detection protrusion 61 mounts on them.
