PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize grain loss and improve recovery efficiency of grains in conformity with a grain screening capacity of a thresher by making a feed chain inherit a transporting grain culm having a thick grain culm layer frequently occurring in sparse planting cultures while thinning down the grain culm layer to a thickness suitable for threshing work. SOLUTION: A reaper transporter (3) is placed in front of the thresher (2) mounted on a traveling frame (1), an upper feed chain (6) and a lower feed chain (7) for grain culm transportation are placed along a transfer starting part (5a) of the feed chain (5) of the thresher (2), and the pair of upper and lower feed chains (6) (7) have different grain culm transportation speeds to transport the grain culm while leveling down the transportation layer thickness and make the feed chain (5) inherit a root part of the grain culm successively.
