[Also in Division F1] A bi-stable pressure amplifier comprises a seesaw flapper 28 actuated by bellows 26 27 which respond to the output signals of a fluid switch 21 having a power nozzle 20 and one or more opposed control nozzles 25. The flapper cooperates with nozzles 31, 32 supplied through restrictions 12A, 12B and communicating with the end chambers of a spool valve 6A having an inlet 2, exhaust 4 and work port 3. In the monostable amplifier of Fig. 1, not shown, spool (6) is biased by spring (13) to connect ports (2, 3) and the inlet (2) communicates via grooves (12) on the spool land with end chamber (5), the flow from which is controlled by valve (7) operated by bellows (9) in response to the output of switch (16).</p> |
