[Also in Division E1] A metal rail 2 is provided with a pair of tongues 10 which extend from one face of the rail and to which a wooden pale can be attached, the tongues 10 being bent so that their free edges 13 face away from each other and their juncture lines 15 with the rail are substantially opposite their free edges 13. The tongues 10 may be arranged to lie within a pale (1) (Figs. 8, not shown), the pale (1) being firmly secured to the rail 2 by applying a force to ensure the free edges 13 of the tongues 10 grip the material of the pale. The tongues 10 may be struck from the rail so as to leave holes 27 between or outside the area between the tongues 10. |
