PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize an elastic member by reducing relative displacement of vertical movement of an upper element or a lower element, also to allow stable suppression of vertical vibration, free from a possibility of fall of the upper element or the lower element, and to prevent enlargement while simplifying a structure. SOLUTION: The structure for suppressing vertical vibration is equipped with: a parallel link mechanism 5 having link elements 51, 52, 53 with their one ends connected to the upper element 2 and the other ends connected to the lower element 3, keeping attitudes of the upper element 2 and lower element 3, and allowing the relative displacement between the elements 2, 3; an intermediate member 6 connected between the two link elements 51, 53 and vertically displaced along with rotational motion of the link elements 51, 53 by displacement of the upper element 2 or the lower element 3; and the elastic member 7 provided to intervene between the intermediate member 6 and the lower element 3 for applying elastic return force along with the vertical displacement of the intermediate member 6.
