PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or prevent a sound and vibration caused by the sliding contact between a side surface of a footstep roller and a guide rail of a passenger conveyor. SOLUTION: This footstep roller of the passenger conveyor includes a tread for rolling on the travel guide surface of the guide rail and a guide side surface guided by sliding along the sidewall of the guide rail. and the guide side surface includes a contact surface contacting with the sidewall of the guide rail of the guide side surface and a recessed part retreated in the axial direction from the contact surface. The footstep roller of the passenger conveyor is provided for restraining the generation of the sound and the vibration caused by the sliding contact between the guide side surface and the guide rail of the footstep roller.
