PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce data from an accurate position without causing a large error to occur, even if data decoding is resumed, after stopping a data reception process via a network. SOLUTION: In an AV receiving device, when the reception of first data is interrupted, a buffer management means 12 avoids release of a buffer occupied by partial data that have already been received in the first data, when a reception interruption state of the first data does not continue up to prescribed time. When the reception interruption state of the first data continues for not less than prescribed time, the buffer management means 12 avoids release of the buffer occupied by the partial data, when there is no reception request for second data, and releases the buffer occupied by the partial data for the reception of the second data, when there are reception requests for the second data.
