PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for a coating head having a slit with high size precision. SOLUTION: A block 50 is fixed with a second block 60 to form a coating head 40 having an aperture 41 for discharging a coating liquid. The block includes a body 55 and a coating layer 57 formed on the body. The coating layer 57 forms a joining face 53 to be brought into contact with the second block. The body has a supporting face 52 coated with the coating layer and a channel face 53 installed apart from the second block and forming a slit 42 as a channel for the coating liquid communicating with the aperture between the second block and the channel face 53 itself.
