PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiving apparatus capable of suppressing power consumption by shortening, as far as possible, a tuner operating time for acquiring program information. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiving apparatus is configured to make an EPG time zone designation. When making the EPG time zone designation, a user places a cursor on the item of "EPG time zone designation" and depress a decision key. When "EPG time zone designation" is selected, a CPU displays a time input frame on a picture. When the user operates numeral keys to input a numeral such as "2024", the CPU recognizes that acquisition of program information of time zones from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m. is requested. For example, at 5 p.m., the CPU starts program information acquisition processing. The CPU refers to information of designated time zones in the EPG time zone designation to determine whether all of pieces of the program information of the designated time zone can be acquired and when acquired, program information acquisition processing is finished.
