GLOW PLUG AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain insulating powder at an intended filling density only by pressurization in the axial direction after the insulating powder is filled within a sheath tube having a built-in resistance heating element, in manufacturing a sheath heater for a glow plug by filling the insulating powder within the sheath tube. SOLUTION: The resistance heating element 30 has a spiral structure formed by spirally winding a metal plate while maintaining the gap between respective wound plates within the sheath tube 21 so as to form a spiral shape when viewed from the rear end side. One end 33 of the resistance heating element 30 positioned on the most outer peripheral side of the spiral structure is welded to the inner face 27 of the sheath tube 21. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
