PRODUCTION OF A SOLID BIOMASS DERIVED FROM OLIVE KERNEL WOOD, PRUNINGS FROM OLIVE TREE BRANCHES AND SAWDUST AGGLOMERATED IN THE FORM OF PELLETS AND BRIQUETTES

摘要

Novelty: production of a solid biomass derived from olive kernel wood, prunings from olive tree branches and sawdust agglomerated in the form of pellets and briquettes. Technical features: a standardized product resulted from mixing of different kinds of solid biomass the ash content of which is lower enough than the olive kernel wood ash content; being derived from the exploitation of regional endogen natural resources, it is an environmentally friendly fuel substituting mineral combustibles. Due to the cost of the raw material in use and the treatment method thereof, the cost of the product is attractive enough, in comparison to similar combustibles. Purpose: use as a fuel for heat generation; preferential use in relatively big heating installations for minimizing problems issued from high ash content.
