The freewheel (1) has radially elastic ratchet pawls (4, 5) arranged in recesses (6) of an inner coupling ring (2) and an outer coupling ring (3), respectively. The ratchet pawls are arranged at a side of the recesses during freewheeling operation and at two sides in opposite extreme positions in the recesses during locking operation. The ratchet pawls engage a holding contour (14) by a holding lug (13), where the holding contour forms a radial support and limits the recesses. The holding lug is formed at a front end in a rotation direction of the coupling ring having a locking contour (7).
