PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress "nonuniformity of image forming speed" caused when a sheet moves while an element for forming an image forms an image. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier configured to move a first color image and a second color image in a state in which the images overlap each other to a sheet in a transfer position; and a controller configured to change speed of forming the first color image and the second color image from a first speed to a second speed corrected to be higher than the first speed related to thickness of the sheet when the thickness of the sheet exceeds a threshold.
