PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology achieving excellent heat transport capacity during normal operation and automatically starting the circulation of working fluid in start-up in a loop type heat pipe used in a top heat state. SOLUTION: The loop type heat pipe includes: a liquid reservoir part provided in a position higher than that of an evaporation part and storing liquid phase working fluid supplied to the evaporation part via a liquid return pipe; a partition wall partitioning the liquid reservoir part into a first storage region including an outflow port of working fluid made to flow out from the liquid reservoir part and a second storage region including no outflow port; an opening opened on the partition wall; and a valve mechanism opening/closing the opening in conjunction with the temperature of the first storage region. During normal operation, the valve mechanism blocks the opening so as to store working fluid in the second storage region. In start-up, when the temperature of the first storage region reaches predetermined temperature, the valve mechanism opens the opening, so as to discharge working fluid stored in the second storage region during normal operation to the first storage region.
