PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation method and an installation device of a hoisting machine, for easily moving the hoisting machine being a heavy load in a reduced space by the small number of persons. SOLUTION: When installing the hoisting machine 1 on a machine bed 3 arranged in an upper part in a hoistway 6 of an elevator, a temporary placing table 5 of the hoisting machine 1 is arranged in a car 4 arranged in the hoistway 6, and is lifted by temporarily placing the hoisting machine 1 on this temporary placing table 5, and its support surface is positioned in the same height as a support surface of the machine bed 3. The hoisting machine 1 is moved on the machine bed 3 by winding a rope 10 by a manual hoisting machine 8 locked between the other end of the rope 10 wound on a pulley 9 installed near the machine bed 3 in the hoistway 6 and having one end locked on a towing tool 24 installed in the hoisting machine 1 and a separate position in the hoistway 6.
