PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus detectable of that a telephone line is erroneously connected to a telephone connection terminal. SOLUTION: An MFC 1 includes a MODEM unit 39 which is provided on a connecting path of a line connecting terminal 12 and a main control unit 29 for mutually converting a digital signal and an analog signal. Furthermore, a relay 16 is provided for controlling whether to close a telephone line. Moreover, a relay 15 is provided for selectively switching a connection destination of the telephone connection terminal 11 among a ringer circuit 18, the MODEM unit 39 and the line connecting terminal 12. A current detection circuit 19 is also provided for detecting whether a current flows to an electrification path between the telephone connection terminal 11 and the relay 15. A CPU 30 sets a telephone line closed state using the relay 16 and detects the presence of the current using the current detection circuit 19. The CPU 30 then determines erroneous connection when it is detected that the current flows, or determines normal connection when it is detected that no current flows. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
