PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform an assembling operation for a component of the upper structure of the body of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A first through-hole 41 is formed at a gusset panel 39 installed between a rail inner panel 30 and the side of a roof 12. The spot welding S8 of the upper edges of the rail inner panel 30 and a rail outer panel 31 to the side edge of the roof 12 can be performed by a welding gun 45 inserted through the first through-hole 41. A rail reinforcement panel 33 is disposed at a roof side rail 11. A second through-hole 42 communicating with the first through-hole 41 in the lateral direction of a vehicle body 2 is formed at the rail inner panel 30. The spot welding S7 of the rail reinforcement panel 33 to a pillar reinforcement panel 22 can be performed by a welding gun 44 inserted sequentially through the first and second through-holes 41, 42. The second through-hole 42 is formed in a portion of the rail inner panel 30 at the same position as the intermediate part of the pillar reinforcement panel 22 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body 2.
