PRINTING APPARATUS, AND PRINTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput in printing processing by optimizing superposition while taking an actual behavior of a CR and an behavior of paper feeding into consideration. SOLUTION: The printing apparatus performs superposition so that the carriage is controlled in a position to start printing to match with the supply of a recording medium and includes a first drive means which drives the carriage, a second drive means which performs paper feeding, and a drive control means which optimizes the superposition by adjusting the drive timing of the carriage on the basis of a time necessary for the first drive means to make the carriage start printing and a time necessary for the second drive means to finish the paper feeding.
