PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing unit for improving fixing force of a toner on a sheet. SOLUTION: In an image forming system 1, a toner image is formed on a transfer target surface 91 of a sheet 9 by a liquid toner formed by dispersing particles including a resin into a volatile solvent. The fixing unit 6 includes a preliminary fixing part 63 for heating the toner image on the transfer target surface 91 from the rear surface 92 side, and the sheet 9 passing the preliminary fixing part 63 is moved to an internal space 613 of a body part 61 of a main fixing part 60. In the internal space 613, the atmosphere having a temperature at which particles of the liquid toner are fused is formed, and particles on the transfer target surface 91 are fused and fixed on the sheet 9. Hereby, the solvent of the liquid toner is prevented from remaining on the transfer target surface 91, to thereby improve the fixing force of the toner on the sheet 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
