CATHETER WITH MECHANISM FOR REMOVING OBJECT THAT OCCLUDES DUCT OF TUBULAR ORGAN

A catheter provided with a mechanism capable of safely and more efficiently excavating an object which occludes the duct of a tubular organ of a living body and easily discharging the excavated object to the outside of the living body. A catheter provided with: a sheath which has a lumen extending through the inside of the sheath and is to be inserted into the duct of a tubular organ of a living body; an insertion member (120) which has a lumen extending through the inside of the insertion member and is slidably and rotatably disposed within the lumen of the sheath; and a removal mechanism (140) which is used to remove an object which occludes the duct of a tubular organ of a living body. The removal mechanism (140) is provided with a support section (142) disposed at the tip of the insertion member (120), and also with rotation bodies (152A - 152C) disposed at the support section (142) so as to surround the axis of the insertion member (120). The rotation bodies (152A - 152C) are each provided with edges for excavating the occluding object, and also with a rotation axis extending in the direction intersecting the axis of the insertion member (120).
