PURPOSE: A shelf assembly for a refrigerator and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the waterproof structure and durability of a shelf. CONSTITUTION: A shelf assembly for a refrigerator comprises a support plate(50), an upper frame(60), a lower frame(70), and a sealing member housing. The upper frame covers the top edge of the support plate and has an upper groove separated from the edge of the support plate. The lower frame covers the bottom edge of the support plate and has a lower groove separated from the edge of the support plate. The sealing member housing is formed when the upper and lower frames are coupled and accepts the edge of the support plate.
