Disclosed are: a method for softening beans; and softened beans which are produced by the method. Softened beans which have a compressive stress of 6.0×104 N/m2 or less and still retain the original shapes thereof can be produced by a bean-softening method which utilizes at least two enzymes selected from cellulase, hemicellulase and pectinase.
