<p>The thread e.g. of nylon or polyester is wound consecutively around two parallely spaced rollers having pref. the same diameter, and being driven pref. by the same drive means, so that the second roller rotates at a higher speed than the first roller, and a freely rotatable pref. Adaprene (R.T.M.) covered stabilising wheel is provided removeably engageable pref. via a spring loaded lever arrangement, with the second roller to clamp the thread along a given line between the wheel and the roller. The apparatus may be included a thread heating device e.g. a heated first roller, and a "false twisting" device for texturing the thread.</p> |
