PURPOSE: A load shedding method and an apparatus for the same are provided to prevent a broad area power blackout by minimizing a counter effect of an accident. CONSTITUTION: A bus lines selection part(110) selects a first object bus lines through the voltage sensitivity analysis using the correlation between a reactive power and a voltage. A monitoring part(120) generates a block activation signal and outputs the signal to a load shedding part(130). The load shedding part computes shedding amount by the step. The load shedding part comprises a first shedding amount calculation unit, a second shedding amount calculation unit, and a shedding unit.
