An atomizing oil burner head, wherein the fuel oil is atomized by a second fluid, e.g. steam, comprises a substantially cylindrical body having a central fuel passage 3 which passes through an annular space 2 supplied with the atomizing fluid through port 7, the fluids being mixed in the outer larger diameter end 6 of passage 3 before discharge. In a multi-jet head fuel is supplied to passages 13 from an annular region 11 and said passages pass through an annular space 15 supplied with the atomizing fluid through a passage 16. Mixing takes .place in the outer larger diameter end 14 of passages 13. The passages 13 are symmetrically arranged about the axis of the head and are skew to said axis in a divergent arrangement. The heads are generally frustoconical in shape. The oil and atomizing fluids may be interchanged. |
