In the medical practice in occasions it is necessary to locate and to access a certain anatomical region that must be extirpated surgically or be manipulated. The present invention relates to the combination of a metallic marker having high magnetic permeability and being of small size, which can easily be introduced in the human body using percutaneous puncture or endoscopy, and a metal detector specially adapted to be used in a sterile way.
