PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a lighting unit for the refrigerator are provided to enable the amount of discharged water or ice to be easily checked by widely spreading light irradiated from a light source, through a guide member. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a body, a door, an ice maker, a dispenser, a duct, a dispenser housing(110), a light source, and a guide member(130). The ice maker is installed in the body or the door. The dispenser is installed on the door. The duct is installed between the ice maker and the dispenser and guides ice from the ice maker to the dispenser. The dispenser housing is communicated with the duct and comprises an ice discharge unit(113). The light source is installed around the discharge unit. The guide member is installed on the discharge unit and guides the discharge of ice. The cover unit(134) is formed on the guide member in order to cover the light source.
