PURPOSE: A swash plate type compressor of a variable capacity type is provided to block refrigerant leakage by filling a gap between the outer surface of a rotary valve and a central bore by a sealing bar. CONSTITUTION: A swash plate type compressor of a variable capacity type comprises a cylinder block(110), a front housing(120), a rear housing(130), a rotary shaft(140), a rotary valve(141), and a piston(115). The cylinder block comprises a central bore(111), a plurality of cylinder bores(113), and a path(114). A crank chamber(121) is formed in the front housing. A discharge chamber(131) and a suction chamber(133) are formed in the rear housing. The rotary valve transfers refrigerant to the cylinder bore. One or more sealing bars(143) are installed on the outer surface of the rotary valve. The sealing bar is installed in the axial direction of the rotary valve and is protruded from the outer surface of the rotary valve by the centrifugal force and the self-elasticity of the rotary valve.
