A bobbin 11<SP>1</SP> having a passageway extending therethrough is provided with a permeable partition 334 extending across the passageway to provide a yarn-receiving compartment 345 in the passageway. The passageway is preferably the axial bore of the bobbin. The upper end of the bobbin is rolled over as at 340 to provide a retaining wall for the bunch of yarn in the compartment 345. The partition 334 preferably includes an annular rim 338 which abuts a shoulder 332 in the bobbin; and the partition may be a press fit or be adhesively secured to the shoulder. The partition may be fabricated from a perforated plate, meshed or netted wire, sintered metal or textile fabric.</p> |
