PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high-purity ion-exchanged water which can produce high-purity purified water having an extremely small amount of a remaining number of bacteria and is compact, and its apparatus; and the method for producing the high-purity ion-exchanged water which can produce generated water particularly having a sufficiently high resistivity value required to prevent a short between single cells in a fuel cell and an extremely small amount of a remaining number of the bacteria, and its apparatus. SOLUTION: Raw water is passed through a first adsorption column packed with a mixed bed resin and an antimicrobial activated carbon, and then a second adsorption column packed with the mixed bed resin. A mixture ratio of the mixed bed resin to the antimicrobial activated carbon packed in the first adsorption column is preferably 0.95:0.05 to 0.70:0.30 based on a volume ratio.
