A damper unit 1 for a vehicle suspension system is disclosed, the damper unit 1 being of the piston-and-cylinder type. The damper unit comprises a damper housing 2 defining first and second generally cylindrical chambers 3, 4 having a common axis, the first and second chambers 3, 4 being separated from each other by an intermediate wall 5. The two chambers 3, 4 have a common damper rod 6 which passes through the intermediate wall 5. The damper rod 6 is coupled to a first piston 11 located in the first chamber 3, and a second piston 12 located in the second chamber 4. Ports 13 and 14 are provided to chamber 3 for communication with spaces 15 and 16 on either side of piston 11, and ports 17 and 18 are provided to chamber 4 for communication with the spaces 19 and 20 on either side of piston 12, thereby providing fluid communication within the respective first and second chambers 3, 4 on either side of their pistons 11, 12 with apparatus external to the damper unit. Claims relating to a suspension system including a plurality of such damper units and a vehicle including such a suspension system are also disclosed.
