PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to minimize the leak of gas generated by internal abnormality by maximizing the sealability between a cap assembly and a gasket, thereby improving stability and reliability. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises: an electrode assembly including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator positioned between two plates; a can for accommodating the electrode assembly through an opening formed at one side thereof; a cap assembly which is located inside the opening of the can and is electrically connected to the electrode assembly; and a gasket which is located between the can and the electrode assembly and has a coating layer having the thickness more than 2 mm at a region which is located with the cap assembly. |
