An apparatus 100 is disclosed for obtaining measurements of a space, such as room or part of a building, comprising: a means for capturing a two dimensional image; and means for calculating measurements of said space based on said image. The means for capturing an image may comprise a camera. The means for calculating measurements of said space may further comprise an infrared laser range finder. The apparatus may further comprise a touch sensitive screen 102 and a stylus 104 whereby points on the screen can be selected 108. The apparatus is particularly suited for use by a surveyor, estate agent, builder or engineer whereby quick measurements of a space are required. |
