<p>The stator winding segments which, in accordance with 1488663, are punched with the same tools as the segments for the actual alternator, are given tapered slots to facilitate the extraction of the finished coils. To restore the right dimensions to the coils the extra width is made up by side shims. These shims are removed after the impregnating resin in the insulating sleeves around the windings has set to the right dimensions.</p> |
