PURPOSE: A colored composition for producing color filters is provided to produce a magenta colored layer in a color filter with 6 colors having excellent spectral characteristics, especially, brightness. CONSTITUTION: A colored composition for producing color filters comprises at least pigment, binder component and solvent. C.I. pigment red 177 as a red pigment is included in the amount 55 weight% or more based on the total weight of pigment and C I. violet 23 is included as a violet pigment. The magenta colored composition further includes C I. pigment red 254.
