A renewable energy source causes movement of a conductor arrangement within a magnetic field set up by the flow of electricity along an electricity transmission line. The energy generation apparatus comprises a generation conductor arrangement in which an electric current is induced, a rotor for mounting the generation conductor arrangement and mounting means for mounting the rotor enabling the generation conductor to be positioned within the magnetic field set up by the flow of electricity along an electricity transmission line.
