An optical communication terminal (102) for carrying out communications over a distance greater than 10,000 km includes a laser signal sending/receiving system (10) and a single pointing system (20). Pointing is carried out during a tracking step by controlling two motors (21) of the pointing system on the basis of signals representing a deflection of a received laser beam. The rotations of the motors substantially cancel out the deflection. In a first embodiment, a filtering carried out on the deflection signals makes it possible to effectively compensate for low frequency disruptions caused by the motors. In a second embodiment, disruptions produced by the operation of the pointing system are compensated during control of the motors. |
