PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device practicing a waiting operation after a last authentication signal in a series of authentication processes is transmitted, shortening the time when the authentication signal can be received, minimizing wasteful operations generated in a plurality of operating modes and reducing wasteful power consumptions on the key side and the portable terminal-device side on the side receiving a search signal and transmitting the last authentication signal in the series of the authentication processes when an asynchronous state is generated by the non-reaching of the authentication signal to either one apparatus, a radio authentication system and a radio authentication method. SOLUTION: A radio authentication control section 304 brings a radio authentication section 300 to a signal waiting state waiting the authentication signal from a key-communication unit 400 for a fixed time by equipping with a case when a reception is failed on the key-communication unit 400 side in a response signal transmitted to the authentication signal lastly transmitted in the operating mode from the key-communication unit 400 side during the practice of a second operating mode.
