METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING VOD SERVICE BASED RANKING OF TV PROGRAM

PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing VOD(Video On Demand) service based on TV program ranking information and a method thereof are provided to reduce the number of VOD search steps and time for old program. CONSTITUTION: A watching sequence information generator(111) generates rating information about the past programs. A data mapping unit(112) maps the past programs with the VOD of the programs. If selection information about a program is received from an STB(Set Top Box), a VOD search unit(113) searches the corresponded VOD through the mapping information. A VOD providing unit(114) transmits the searched VOD to the STB.
