PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for searching for a broadcasting program in a digital broadcasting receiver are provided to search for broadcasting programs based on user selection. CONSTITUTION: A method for searching for a broadcasting program in a digital broadcasting receiver comprises the steps of: receiving data of broadcasting programs from a head end; displaying a broadcasting searching condition window including a specific condition for searching for the broadcasting programs when a user inputs a broadcasting program searching request(304,308); searching for the corresponding broadcasting programs corresponding to user selected condition from the conditions displayed on the broadcasting program searching conditions; and displaying the searching result screen including the list of the searched broadcasting programs.
