PURPOSE: A sever for an image forming apparatus and a method for charging for a printing service are provided to prevent an error in calculating charge by collecting printing amount information by a predetermined time interval. CONSTITUTION: A charging standard about the printing usage is established(S10). According to the predetermined charging standard, usage information for one or more image forming apparatus is collected(S20). It is determined whether the charging standard is varied or not using the collected usage information(S30). The charging fee is calculated by using the changed charging standard(S40). The charging standard comprises the charging period information.
